Our family was together Sunday evening (including the 11 great-grandsons), and after we ate, they gathered around Elaine and me for a time of prayer and speaking blessing over us. That’s something that money can’t buy.
We see answers to their and your prayers and are encouraged by how Elaine is sleeping; that she is free of pain; and that God is connecting us with medical help in the way He is.
ANOINTING
We would like Elaine to be anointed by elders as in James 5:13-16.
We would expect them to be men of years who have insight and proven spiritual maturity; who love us and want to bless us as fellow members of the Body of Christ; who believe that God can use them to effect Elaine’s healing; and whose lives confirm their own walk under His Lordship.
I wrote a post this morning inviting that, but Elaine felt that I was opening us to persons whose spirituality and ministry approach wouldn’t bear witness to us. I agreed, so we, and especially she, prayed about it through the day.
At 5:00 this evening a brother called and asked if he, his wife, and a few others could come and lay hands on Elaine and pray for her/us. I asked if they would anoint her with oil and he readily agreed to.
We had teamed up with them in serving a family in need a couple of years ago. They are Biblical elders among God’s people and we trust them fully. (Positional “eldership” in an organized church has little to do with that.)
Praise God – – He answered our prayer just that quickly! I’ll let you know when its scheduled so you can join us from wherever you are.
PRAYER REQUEST
Elaine’s first IV Infusion starts at 8:30 Thursday and will take most of the day because of possible reactions. Please pray that reactions are minimal if at all and that the Rituxan is effective in shrinking the tumor.
Your partnership in this journey is invaluable. Thank you!
