THE HARVEST WORKERS – A
Jesus was kind and gentle, but He also made strong statements and communicated high expectations for His followers. The Great Commission was a command, not a suggestion. It applies to all who claim to be His disciples, to be expressed in the ways that He custom-crafts for each one.
As God refines the Church by fire, we will come to obey His call to mission in a whole new way. We will actively shape our lives around the Great Commission and will humbly receive His empowerment to fulfill it. Both are “natural” to the Church, the Body of Christ, in a very different way than we see in much of the church today.
To refresh your thinking, here’s some things that Jesus said:
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, Luke 4:18 niv
– – The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Mt. 9:37-38 nasb
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Mt. 28:18-20 niv
I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high. Luke 24:49 niv
– – Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39 niv

Good words, good reminder!
Nice blog – please write more for us harvest workers. I’m an eleventh hour worker and servant in the household as we await the return of the LORD during these final days. The torahcalendar.com is showing us the times we live in.
There’s are so many signs. Daniel 11 is the book of truth – promised to us to be opened at the end. We’re right at Daniel 11:30 (Ships from the West will discourage the King of the North) and awaiting what Paul described in the uprising and Abomination of Desolation. Thanks
Thanks for your encouragement and insight, your testimony, and your partnership in the harvest. May God be with you in every way! Ken
