OUR CALLING
Yesterday we saw that God’s expectation of His Church is lofty, clearly stated and purpose driven. We are to showcase the superiority of the life He offers as compared to Satan’s, so that others want Him too.
There’s a lot of hurting people out there who are trying everything imaginable to appease their hunger and quench their thirst. Nothing is working and the only answer is Jesus, through His Body the Church.
GOD SAYS. . .
“You there! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Isaiah 55:1-2 nasb
SO HERE’S THE QUESTIONS
Do others see the excellence and supremacy of Jesus in us? Do we radiate His peace in our storms and His joy in our sorrows? Have we come to Him with our own hunger and thirst in a way that we became lights on a hill that show others the way?
Do they see us humbly and generously serving each other? Are we safe havens for broken and needy people? Are we forgivers? How do we respond to those who do evil against us?
Do our homes demonstrate the harmony of husbands loving their wives and wives submitting to their husbands? Are the children in our families loved, trained and disciplined – – thus secure, respectful and obedient?
Do our business owners model Jesus’ character in how they treat employees, competitors, and disgruntled customers?
Does our lifestyle indicate that we prioritize extending the Kingdom of God over acquiring things of the world?
We’re not just talking about being good people. It’s about humbly, actively and consistently living under the rule of Jesus, in all of life, for His Names’ sake.
IS that the Matthew 16:18 Church – – or am I missing something – – or do we have work to do?
