Would you agree that the purpose of the Church is to be the visible Body of Christ in the world? That is, that representing Jesus and His passion for the souls of men, and being vessels through whom His Life naturally flows to others, is what we are to be about?
And would you agree that the active work of His Holy Spirit is essential in making that happen?
If so, and if you go to church this weekend, try to judge (a good word there) how much of what happens is an expression of those assumptions, and how much simply represents an earthly institution whose agenda is accomplished by man’s program. And if you don’t go to church, judge why you do what you do and how it relates to those assumptions. Is your spiritual journey this weekend “of God” or “of man”?
ARE we being about Fathers’ business or are we basically doing our own thing, either individually or as institutions? It matters, and in the time soon to come it will be the difference between life and death.
